A set of Tarot cards features 21 trump cards, the fool, and an extra face card per suit, in addition to the usual suit (face and pip) cards found in ordinary playing cards. Tarot cards are used throughout much of Europe to play Tarot card games and are sometimes thought to have magical or divinatory powers. During
the middle ages, painting Tarot cards was a booming business niche for artists. Beautiful, elaborate, and
unique Tarot cards were highly prized and a status symbol for the high born. Our assignment was to
create one or more “trump” cards.

Living in the
Atlantic City area, the word "Trump" takes on a special meaning because "The Donald" has his casino palaces
emblazzened with his name. I'd long been wanting to tackle PhotoShop, so I used this opprotunity to make a play
on words. I produced Trump-Trump cards for Lovers, Chance, Devil, Fool, Strength, Tower, and Wheel of Fortune (Chance).
I used seven of the 249,000 images of Donald Trump produced by a Google search. The Fool is to the left. Click

We did the Tarot Card project not long after 9/11/2001, which had a big influence
in my choice of design. Click below to see the Tower Tarot Card.
