Paper Sculpture

Pop up books and pop up cards are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to paper sculpture.  See, for example, The Pop-Up Book, by Paul Jackson, for over 100 original paper projects.  Our challenge this month was to create a pop up of some kind, and to incorporate the idea of travel.  Some of the images can be made larger by clicking on the picture.

Paradoxically, when I think of travel, I think of my island home of Ocean City.  My pop up book includes all the family favorites, including the dolphins jumping waves to the left.  For other pop-up images of Ocean city, click below.

Flower Show Traditional

This is a stand-alone card with two sides.  One side shows a traditional flower pot, the other (below) is a more tropical floral scene.  Both cards are  handpainted and glued to give dimension to the work.
