| Ice Princess Goes Skiing |

While rummaging through all my Christmas "stuff" I came upon enough white twinkling materials to make a
mountain, but settled for these alpine ski boots for the Ice Princess.

I made this before we even came to the winter solstice...
the shortest day in the year... and I am itching to get back in the garden.

| So "Shoe" Me, You Turkey |

I took the "So Shoe Me" theme literally and
made this shoe from my large collection of turkey wish bones, embellished with a red turkey head and a yellow turkey
foot. So shoe me, you turkey!

| Shoes Are For Chicks |

These shoes are made of fimo clay, or are adapted from shoes meant
for dolls. I was especially challenged by working on such a small scale. Click the link below for a close up of

| Shoo Fly Pie |

|
| By: Thelma Snyder |
|
Although
I am an avid professional cook who has experimented with many styles of recipes, I’d never made or tasted a shoo fly
pie. As you can see from the pictures, the Studio X assemblage enjoyed the pie, served with homemade whipped
cream. My research indicated that shoo fly pie got its name because as the pie cooled, flies were attracted
to the molasses. Molasses, lard, and flour were among the basic ingredients for the pie, and were brought
to Pennsylvania by the Quakers seeking religious freedom. Click the link below to see Studio X members enjoying this
pie, served with fresh whipped cream. Be tempted to join us!

Made just after the historic November 4, 2008, election
of Barack Obama, the six-foot piece combines the shoes of adults and children, males and females, from all walks of life.
Red on the right and blue on the right blend in the middle to purple, reflecting my deep hope that our country can be brought
together during the Obama administration. Note the two "ruby slippers", a superstitious assist for Obama to make his wishes for our country and our wishes for him to come true.

Soul / Sole Of A Shoe
|
I was tempted by the play on words "sole" (as of a shoe) and "soul"
(as of a sentient being). Hence, the poem, which you can see by clicking the link to the left.
